This months theme is Brusho. Have you tried it? New to Stampin Up with this years Occasions Catalogue and my first introduction to them. I have to say I am in LOVE with them. Last month I also used Brusho, but I used it for the background. This time, I tried something different. What do you think?
To make this card, I heat embossed with silver on shimmery white cardstock using the Climbing Orchid stamp set. Then with the Prussian Blue Brusho, I sprinkled brusho over the images and spritzed with water. Once I got the color I wanted, I cut out using the Orchid Builder Framelits. I then embossed my night of navy cardstock using the Petal Pair Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (love them!!!) and heat embossed the stem with silver embossing powder. This is what the inside looks like.
I have wanted to play with the orchid bundle for so long and I finally got my chance!! For a complete list of products see below. But, I decided to try a similar card in calypso coral. Not sure what it is, maybe the long, cold winter, but calypso coral is becoming one of my favorite colors all of a sudden.
For this one, I used the retired calypso coral embossing powder on shimmery white cardstock and the Gamboge Brusho. For the background, I mixed some of the brusho on a plastic plate and picked it up with my aqua painter and flicked it.. I like the effect!!
And for the inside, I stamped with the premixed brusho. Stained my stamp, but oh well, didn't ruin it!!!
