Need a simple Masculine Card - Gears & Textures is for you

I finally had time to play with the Gears & Textures set. Oh my, I can't wait for tomorrow so I can play again!  I always struggle with masculine cards, but not anymore.  This is so fun and easy to use.

Which colour combination to you prefer?

Both DSP is from the Nature's Walk DSP, which is also perfect for masculine cards!  I like both.  We made the blue on my video, but essentially the products are the same

You can watch my video here

Double Vision Meets Waterside Retreat - Perfect Father's Day Card

So, I have had fun with the double vision card.  I used the technique for my demonstration at our team gathering this past weekend with the Scenic Coast DSP, and wow..it worked so beautifully.  I decided to try it with the fish paper as my husband is an avid fisherman, and fathers day will be here before I know it.

What do you think?

There are two ways you can do this.  One, take one 5 1/4 X 4 DSP, cut it into 1/2 strips and raise every second strip with dimensionals.  Or, you can cut two pieces of DSP that are exactly the same to 5 1/4 X 4.  Keep one as your base and cut the other into 1/2 inch strips, using every second strip.  That is what I did as I like the look better than seeing cardstock peeking through but it is a lot of DSP used and wasted!

I cut the chair out of Peaceful Pine with the dies and used a blending brush to add some dimension to it.  The book I stamped on Basic White with memento and coloured with my blends (Crumb Cake and Mossy Meadow).  I used the textured notes dies and run it through twice to get a smaller rectangle for the sentiment.  With the Basic Essentials Twine, I wrapped it around the sentiment and attached a trinket.

For the inside, I kept it simple and just cut out a fish from the designer series paper.

Here is the card I made for our team event.  Same technique, just a different suite.

Bloom Boutique Pleated Card

We had our team spring escape a few weeks ago and Sherry demonstrated this super cute card and I just knew I had to do it with some new product.  So we re-created her card with the Bloom Boutique gorgeous DSP.  What do you think?

This card is featuring the new Hydrangea Hue.  I am in love!!!  The second card has Hydrangea Hue and Barely Blush.  Which is your favourite?

For the inside of the card, I kept it pretty simple.  Just put a strip of DSP and a sentiment

To make this card you want a piece of DSP that measures 4 X 7.  With the 7 along the top score at 1/2, 1, 2, 2 1/2, 3 1/2, 4, 5, 5 1/2 and 6 1/2.  Fold these starting at the left alternating between a mountain and a valley fold.  See the differences between the top and the bottom card.  The bottom card I popped the pleats up with dimensionals, the top card I glued it down.  Totally different look, one would need more postage to mail LOL.

I adhered this a piece of cardstock measures 2 1/2X 4 and then mounted this on a piece of coordinating cardstock  measuring 2 3/4 X 4 1/4.  You can do more than one layer if you wish.  The second design of DSP is 4 X 5 1/4 and that is adhered to a standard card base measuring 81/2 X 5 1/2 scored at 4 1/4.

A complete list of supplies is provided below.  If you want to see me make this card, watch me on my You Tube channel here
