Last Chance Animal Outing

Happy Sunday!!! It is that time of year again. The time to say goodbye before it is time to say hello.  Stampin'Up! is getting ready for a new catalogue launch in June and to do so, we have to say goodbye to some of our favourites.  Make sure you check out the Last Chance items...there are some great deals there and it will be the last time to get these favourites.  Don't wait because it is while supplies last.

Dawn Griffith recently posted a floating gatefold card and I loved it!!! See her video here.  I decided to do the same fold, but using the Animal Outing stamp set. I love this stamp set and am really sad to see it go

There are corresponding dies to go with this set too.  Love it.  I also used the retiring Blueberry Bushel and See a Silhouette Designer series Paper.  What to you think?

It is a floating gatefold because the inside pops up!! How cute is that

Stamping with Jen Ornate Gardens meets Pigment Sprinkles

Where is the time going? You would think with working from home and staying home 24/7 that the days would drag on.  But thank goodness for stamping!! I feel like time is just flying by.  Before I know it, we will be out of this pandemic and hopefully life will return somewhat to normal.  But until then, I might as well enjoy more time in the craft room :)

So, I decided to try watercoloring with the Pigment Sprinkles.  If you have never used these, they are very concentrated watercolor crystals, just add water and magic!! I normally sprinkle them on a background and spritz with water, but today I decided to try doing water colour painting with them. I have to tell you, it was much easier than I thought it would be!!!  What do you think?

To make this card, I stamped the large floral image from the Ornate style stamp set using Versamark on watercolor paper and then heat embossed using white embossing powder.  Isn't this stamp set gorgeous?

Ornate Style Stamp set
Then using a large stamp block, I sprinkled the Granny Apple Green, Gorgeous Grape, Mango Melody and Melon Mambo in separate areas.  Added water with my aqua painter and just painted the flowers and leaves.  Let it dry, then cut it out...simple :).

For the inside, I stamped the sentiment in Gorgeous Grape and the flower in Staz On.  I then coloured the flower with the pigment ink.

The basic recipe:

- Highland Heather card stock measuring 8 1/2 X 5 1/2 scored at 4 1/4
- Whisper white inside 4 X 5 1/4
- Ornate layer die cut in whisper white cardstock
- Large floral image stamped in versamark on watercolor paper.

Stamping with Jen Stamping Symphony April Blog Hop

Can you believe it is the middle of April already? And what a strange April it has been.  I hope that you are all finding some peace and some silver linings in these strange and scary times.  This month's blog hop is themed Mother's Day or Father's Day, so I thought I would take a fancy fold card that was inspired by a card made by Kitchen Table Stamper, you can see her video here (Kitchen Table Stamper).  I LOVED her cards and CASED them but for this one, I took the bright and cheery and changed it to subtle and elegant...just like my mom if she were alive and just like my mother in law.  I will send this to her in New Zealand for mother's day.

So this card is so simple to make and uses products from the Parisian Blossoms Suite.  I love this suite, but just haven't used it enough.

For a complete list of supplies, see below and if you live in Canada and would like to purchase an order from my on-line store using the host code posted on my blog, I will send you card kits for this in the mail with a step by step tutorial for free!  I can't stamp for you, but I can send you the materials and you can swap out the stamps for something that you have!

The dimensions for this card are as follows:

- Card base 11 X 4 1/4, scored at 2 3/4 and 5 1/2
- Card base 8 1/2 X 3 1/8 scored at 2 1/8 and 4 1/4
- DSP - large panel 4 X 5 1/4
- DSP - smaller front panel 4 X 21/2

Check out another card I made using this fold here.  This one is much bolder!  There is also a video there with step by step instructions.

Hope you enjoyed this months blog hop!  Make sure to hop along to one of the other lovely ladies blogs.

Take care and happy Stamping!!
