February Stamping Symphony Blog Hop - Occasions Catalogue

Not sure about where you are, but here in Canada, I am pretty much done with winter and have spring on my mind, hoping, praying and just waiting (not very patiently) for spring to arrive.  February seems to be the longest month of the year!!!! As I was sitting thinking about spring showers, green vegetation and sunshine, I decided to play with the Beauty Abounds bundle

top butterflies I did in the lovely lipstick foil sheets and the bottom butterflies in basic black (see below)
I love butterflies and this bundle is amazing!!! Can't wait to play more with it. This is my first creation with the bundle, and I have to say, I am in love....

I tried a new (to me) technique called crinkled ink technique that I saw on Kelly Acheson's You Tube channel (her web-page is AStampAbove.com).  Essentially all you do is crumple your paper to crease it, flatten it out, take an ink pad and swipe the inkpad directly to the paper.  Then, you crumple again and use a different ink.  For this sample I used Lovely Lipstick, Highland Heather and Petal Pink.  Once you have the color coverage that you want, you carefully straighten it out (the paper will rip easily if you aren't careful) and then lightly spritz it with water.  It makes the colour bleed a little and "soften's" it.  You can either let it air dry or dry it with your heating tool.

Here is a closer look at the background...

With dies like this, the adhesive sheets are a gals best friend!! I put adhesive sheets on a piece of basic black cardstock and then cut it out with the framelits (see caption above for the ones I used).  I used the other framelits (that had more to them (the top ones in the first picture) with the Lovely Lipstick Foil paper from Sale A Bration.

For the inside, I stamped the greeting from Picture Perfect Birthday and the butterflies from the Beauty Abounds stamp set in Gorgeous Grape and the bubbles (I LOVE the bubbles) in Lovely Lipstick and Highland Heather..

Hope it brought a little spring to your day! Let me know what you think.  If you are interested in making this card and you live near Guelph On, contact me...it is one that we will be doing in my next card class at the end of Feb.  For a complete list of supplies, see below.

Happy Valentines Day

Happy Valentines Day!! When I saw the Hey Love stamp set in the Occasions catalogue, I knew I had to get it.  My youngest son is grade 6 and still likes to take treats in for his class, I know my years are numbered for being able to do this.  Check out this stamp set, it is sooooooo cute.

I will show you the treats I made for his class, but first I couldn't resist making a card for him too.

The Twinkle Twinkle designer series paper from the annual catalogue was perfect for a male valentines day card!  I just love coloring with the blends..so much fun!! Ok so for his class, I made little bag toppers and filled gusseted cellophane bags with valentines treats. What do you think?

Here is a closer look at two of them. I simply stamped using memento ink and coloured with blends!

I just love the Otter!!!  Hope you have a great Day everyone!!
