Stamping with Jen - Whiskey Business!!!

I cannot believe it is the end of July.  Where has all the time gone? I am just back from holidays too, so this week has been tough getting back into things!  I loved a card I saw by Dawn Griffith, so she inspired me to do this card.  I have a wonderful neighbour that looked after our grass and gardens when we were away, so I needed a masculine thank you card.  The Whiskey Business stamp set from the 2020-2021 Annual Catalogue is the perfect stamp for those masculine cards you need!!  What do you think?

It is a simple Z fold card and uses the In Good Taste Designer Series Paper (DSP), which is also perfect for those masculine cards! I coloured the whiskey using my blends and combined the light Cinnamon Cider and the light Mango Melody. Here is another card using Crumb Cake as the base and a different DSP from the same pack.

Which one do you like the best? Both were coloured using blends. I think I am partial to the first one.

For the inside, I kept it simple.

The complete list of supplies to make this card are provided below.  The recipe is:

- Card base (either Early Espresso or Crumb Cake) is 4 1/4 X 11, scored at 2 3/4 X 5 1/2
- Inside panel - Whisper White 4 X 5 1/4
- Scalloped square (about 3 inch) from Layering Squares dies
- Whisper white square (about 2 5/8 from Layering Squares Dies
- DSP (both from In Good Taste DSP) 2 5/8 X 4 1/8
- DSP (both from In Good Taste DSP) about 5/8 X 33/4
- Whisper white label (about 5/8 and as long as you need for sentiment)
- Whisper white for stamping (scrap)
- Post it note or computer paper for mask

Please watch my video here to see how to make this card and tips and tricks for colouring!

July Stamping Symphony Blog Hop- Whale Done

I cannot believe it is half way through July already, and you know what that means, yes that is right the Stamping Symphony blog hop!!! This month we are demonstrating a technique of some sort and of course show casing new product from the annual catalogue!!

Can you guess what technique I did?

Yup, sponging!!!Isn't this card so cute!! I love the Whale Done stamp set. I simply took a piece of balmy blue cardstock and stamped some kelp in Granny Apple Green, some coral in Calypso Coral, some sea horses in Bumblebee, some bubbles in Balmy Blue and some fish in Night of Navy.  When I was happy with the scene, I ran it through the Seabed 3 D embossing folder.  Then taking my sponge dauber, I sponged in Night of Navy over the raised part of the embossing folder.  Just that simple bit of sponging adds so much depth to the card!

I then stamped the sentiment from Best Year on a die cut from the Stitched Nested Labels.  I cut out a few of the turtles from the DSP and adhered a ribbon and voila!  Here is a close up of the sponging

I just love this stamp set and actually the entire suite!!!  The dimensions for the card is as follows:

- card base - Night of Navy 8 1/2 X 5 1/2, scored at 4 1/4
- first layer - Calypso Coral 4 1/8 X 5 3/8
- top layer - Balmy Blue 4 X 5 1/4
inside is 5 1/4 X 4 whisper white
- scrap whisper white for the die cut.

A complete list of supplies can be found below.  Make sure you hop on over to the next blog and see what techniques are being showcased!!

Thanks for stopping by.
