December Stamping Symphony Blog Hop

I can't believe it is ten days until Christmas. Where has the time gone? I am so not ready. So much running around, menu planning, baking left to do. Maybe, my problem is that I get lost in my studio playing LOL. So this months blog hop is themed Winter or New Years celebration. I thought I would get back to sponging, since it has been a while that I have done that.

I couldn't get the lighting right in the picture, so it doesn't do it justice. It really is quite pretty in person.  Using a sticky note I set the horizon and sponged the sky first with balmy blue and then with night of navy.  I then took sticky notes and made random cuts to use as hills.  I placed them and sponged lightly with balmy blue. Then using the trees from Winter woods  (large one) and from Rooted in Nature I stamped the trees in Shaded Spruce.  For the three large trees in the front of the card, I also stamped in versamark, added white embossing powder and then scrapped off most of the embossing powder so it was like a sprinkle of snow. This was heat embossed. Then with the shimmer white paint, I painted some of the snow banks and the some snow on the trees in the background.  Finally, with some shimmer paint and alcohol in a spritzer, I added some bling!  The Sentiment is from the Spirited Snowman set. The inside, I simply stamped the large tree image and just left without a sentiment, so there is lots of room to write a note to catch up with a friend. For a detailed supply list, see below.

I also (because I was procrastinating from getting ready for Christmas LOL) decided to try to do a New Years card too. Very simple, no stamping, just die cuts.  See below for a supply list.

Well, as this may be my last post before the New Year (hopefully not, but with how crazy my day job is right now, it may be a reality), I would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas (or Happy Holidays) and may 2019 be filled with health, happiness, friends and family.

On-Stage Orlando - proud to be Canadian

I have just returned from On-Stage in Orlando and let me tell you...WOW. Met some fantastic people, learned some valuable information, received some good pointers for growing my stamping up customer base, got a sneak peak of the upcoming Occasions Catalogue and Sale A Bration brochure (which is awesome by the way) but best of all I was reminded of how fortunate we are to be Canadian! The Canadians got together for a photo (yes I am in there somewhere LOL) but while we were waiting for the official photographer to come, we just spontaneously broke out into the national anthem.  I still get goosebumps thinking of it!!  Check out my facebook page for a glimpse of the video https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=913413035511434&id=100005282384315

Stamping Symphony November Blog Hop- Holiday Catalogue

Well, I am just back from On Stage at Orlando where we got a sneak peak and were able to play with some of the sets from the upcoming Occasions Catalogue and Sale-A -Bration that will go live on January 3, 2019. There are some AMAZING sets in this catalogue!  I am so excited.  There is a fishing set that I cannot wait for. My hubby and oldest son are fishing fanatics and both have birthdays in January. I cant wait to get my hands on this set :).  There is something for everyone in the catalogue. But I digress. We are here for the blog hop!!! Which is why I started talking about OnStage because I am sharing my swap card for a Christmas Swap I participated in.

This card had many iterations until I landed on something that worked for me (Thanks Leena for all your suggestions :)).  But I am really happy with how it ended up.  To make it was pretty simple. I used the Peaceful Poinsettia bundle.  Using my stamparatus, I stamped the large poinsettia image on window sheets using staz on.  I found that unless I used the stamparatus, the stamp would slide a bit on the window sheet not giving me a crisp picture.  So the stamparatus it was!! I remembered which side I stamped on by writing a number 2 (anything would work as long as it would look different upside down) on the window sheet. This is important for coloring and since I was making a whole bunch of these for swaps I needed to keep track of it! Using my blends, I coloured on the back side of the window sheet and then cut out the colored image as well as the same image on sparkle glimmer paper using the thinlets.  I repeated this for the smaller holly as well.  I attached the two pieces (glimmer and colored window sheet) using glue dots.  I adhered a piece of shaded spruce card stock to the multipurpose adhesive sheets and cut out the "Merry" using the Merry Christmas Thinlet Dies.  If you don't have the adhesive sheets, glue will work, I just wanted it to be fast and mess free for the swap and I LOVE the adhesive sheets when I have fine pieces to glue down.  I stamped the "Christmas" in real red from the Merry Christmas to all stamp set and then attached the "merry".  I then ran the whisper white cardstock through the gently falling embossing folder.  I assembled the card, attached the ribbon and rhinestones and voila!

For the inside, I kept it pretty simple.
What do you think? Does it work?  For all the supplies, see the detailed list below.  But don't forget to check out the blogs of all the other talented ladies on the Stamping Symphony Blog Hop!

Easy Christmas Card!

Need an easy Christmas card? Love this one. Easy but stunning!

Cut a piece of real red cardstock at 5 1/2 by 7, and scored at 4 1/4. The inside whisper white is 5 1/4 by 4 and half of the sheet is embossed with the subtles textured embossing folder. The stunning DSP is from the All is Bright paper (which I have had to buy multiple packs of because I love it so much lol). The label and the border are from the frosted floral thinlets and the sentiment from All Hearts come home. The twigs are also from the frosted floral dies, but I have also used the new sprig punch on a different card, which looks just as amazing! For detailed product list see below.
