March's Stamping Symphony Blog Hop - Heat Embossing

So this months theme is heat embossing and with Sale-A-Bration wrapping up in a few weeks (not sure if it is just me, but I do not know what happened to the last three months, where did the time go?), I thought I would use primarily Sale-A-Bration items to mark the pending end of this amazing sale.  Not sure about you, but I LOVE the new Springtime Foil DSP that was released in the second release for Sale-A-Bration.  Let me know what you think.

So, I heat embossed the basket from Blossoming Basket (yes that is a free Sale-A-Bration item) using copper embossing powder and the heat tool on vellum.  I then colored the opposite side of the vellum using my blends. I was going to adhere the vellum directly to the copper paper cut with the layering square framelits, but I thought I lost the flowers against the copper, so I adhered the vellum to a whisper white cardstock and then to the copper square.  Cut out the "amazing" and "you" in copper from the Celebrate You framelits (free from Sale-A-Bration) and adhered everything to the amazing paper from the Springtime Foil DSP (free from Sale-A-Bration).  Just to a little more bling, I used ink of stella on the flowers.
The inside sentiment was from the Petal Palette stamp set, and was heat embossed again with the copper embossing powder.

Don't have the blends, don't worry, I also did one using the stamping write markers, and although I couldn't get the depth to the flowers that I could with the blends, it still turned out pretty (I think anyway :-)).

Easter is Coming (What already?)

Not sure where the time is going, but Easter is slowly sneaking up on us. When I saw the bunny in the Sweet Little Something stamp set, I just knew I had to do an Easter card with him.  Love the texture that the three step stamping allows and it is so simple to line up, especially with a stamparatus!!! I just received mine and not sure how I survived without it.

To stamp the bunny, I used the first stamp (the flat one) with sahara sand, then stamped the detail with crumb cake and the darker area with early espresso.  The small eggs in the basket are from the For Peeps Sake stamp set and are stamped in Flirty Flamingo, Marina Mist and Soft sky and then fussy cut.  Isn't the bunny so cute!!

Hedgehugs Simple Card!

Sometimes I forget that not everyone has every tool available to make fancy cuts and cards, so I thought I would go back to the basics and make this very simple card that only involves cutting, stamping, coloring and gluing.  I made this card for my cousin to thank her for a really nice birthday dinner that she and her parents had for me. It was so special to me that they did this. I hope she likes it!

I just stamped the flowers using crumb cake and then stamped the logs using early espresso.  The hedgehogs are stamped in soft suede and then water colored in using crumb cake. Simple, but so darn cute!!

Hope she likes it!!
