So Hard to Say Goodbye - Last Chance Favourites

The new Stampin'Up! annual catalogue is coming soon!! It will be available to customers in May and demonstrators can pre-order in April (yet another reason to join my team LOL...).  But with the new catalogue also comes having to say good bye to some of my favourites.  Stampin'Up has released the Last Chance items and has discounted some of them incredibly!!! Make sure you check it out.  You don't want to wait as these items are while supplies last.  When they are gone, they are gone :(.   You can check out the Last Chance deals here.  So all of the 2019-2021 In-Colors will be retiring, and these always sell out.  So if you want to get some paper or reinkers or ribbon etc, get it soon.  These colours are the Pretty Peacock, Seaside Spray, Rococo Rose, Terracota Tile and Purple Posey.  I LOVE all of these and are sad to see them go.  I also loved the Dandelion Wishes stamp set, and it is also retiring.   So I thought I would jump on and share a card I made today.

Last Chance
The last chance items in this card are the Dandelion Wishes and Here's a Card stamp sets, Pretty Peacock paper, the Scalloped Linen Ribbon, and the dainty diamonds 3D folder.  The ladybugs will also be going when the January to June catalogue retires.  Although the white embossing powder isn't retiring, with the new annual catalogue, you won't be able to buy it separately, it will come in a pack of 3. So if you use a lot of it, make sure you stock up now!!!

If you live in Canada, make sure you shop with me!

Stamping Symphony March Blog Hop - Stamping with Jen

It is the middle of March (already) and yes, SPRING is in the air!!! Or at least it comes and goes, just like a big tease!!! We decided to celebrate spring this month on the blog hop!! I for one can't wait to see the tulips pop up and hear the birds singing again! This winter has seemed very long :).  So, we have this really cute stamp set in the January to June Mini called Springtime Joy and I thought it would be perfect for this months theme.
Embossing Paste

I sponged the background using Gorgeous Grape, Flirty Flamingo and Magenta Madness.  Then I coloured our sparkly embossing paste with Flirty Flamingo and applied on an angle using our masks. I stamped the images using Memento ink and coloured with my blends and then sponged the background using balmy blue.  Don't you just think the lamb and bunny are adorable!!  Here is the stamp set

Here is a close up of the paste! It is so pretty and just adds a little extra to the card!

I did a video last week to show how to use the paste.  Make sure you check it out here if you have never used it before https://stampingjen.blogspot.com/2021/03/stamping-with-jen-international-blog.html

Stamping with Jen - International Blog Highlights - Butterfly Bijou

Thank you Kyle and Bruno for organizing this and allowing us to gather together virtually and share our projects!  It has been a long long time since I pulled out the embossing paste and played. I wanted to showcase a few of the retiring colours, so I focused on Seaside Spray and Rococo Rose.  What do you think?

I just love the Butterfly Bijou Designer Series Paper and especially love that the Brilliant Wings Dies cuts out images in the DSP!

So to make this card, I used our blending brushes to add Seaside Spray Ink, Mango Melody Ink, and Rococo Rose ink to a piece of Basic White card stock.  I then made a template using cardstock and the brick dies from the Brilliant Wings Dies that I used to add the brick texture using the Shimmery White Embossing paste.  The pictures below show the procedure (using slightly different colours- will be changing up the colours for my FB live this Wednesday), but it gives you the idea.

I secured the "template" using old washi tape.  I then took the shimmery White embossing paste and mixed it with Seaside Spray ink.  Add one drop at a time and mix it until you get the desired color.  The photo below shows using Just Jade, and it is one drop.  A little goes a long way.

Using the palette knife, I then filled in the brick templates on my card, scraping excess embossing paste away.  Once the template is filled, you peel away the template leaving the card base with embossing paste.  Leave for a bit to dry (so not tacky to touch) and then you can decorate the card as desired.

After that, it is simply putting the card together.  I glued the blended layer to a layer of Rococo Rose cardstock and attached a Seaside Spray Metallic Ribbon using glue dots.  I simply took an extra piece of ribbon and tied a knot (as opposed to a bow) at the top.  The sentiment was stamped in Seaside Spray ink on a die cut from the Tasteful Labels Die and the butterfly was cut from the Butterfly Bijou DSP using The Brilliant Wing Dies.  Both were adhered using dimensionals. I finished the card off with some embellishments from the Artistry Blooms Adhesive Backed Sequins and splattered the card with Wink of Stella (I also painted the butterfly with wink of Stella, though it doesn't show up well on camera).

Here is a close up.  For the inside I kept it pretty simple and used the sentiment from Happy Thoughts.  The butterfly I stamped using the Butterfly Brilliance stamp set in Seaside Spray and sponged it in using the blending brushes before I die cut using the Brilliant Wings dies. I added a bit of Wink of Stella and kept it pretty simple.
The complete list of supplies are provided below.

Please let me know what you think and come back Wed night to see different colours and make sure you let me know which one you prefer!!!
