Stamping with Jen Gnome for the Holidays Starburst Card

Happy Wednesday! Last day of September and the temperature has dropped! Perfect evening for playing in the craft room!  I am totally in love with these Gnomes.  What do you think? So darn cute

So the star burst technique has been around for a while, so I couldn't give credit to who inspired me first for this card.  But you simply cut out rectangles of DSP, cut them in half to make triangles and then just glue them to a card stock.  So bright and cheery!

A complete list of supplies if provided below with links to my on-line store if you would like to make this card!!

Make sure you watch my video for some tips and tricks.

You can make this with any designer series paper you have and coordinating cardstock.  To make this card you will need:

- Card base 5 1/2 X 8 1/2, scored at 4 1/4 (Real Red)

- First Layer 5 1/4 X 4 (Mossy Meadow)

- Next layer 5 1/4 X 4 (Mossy Meadow, you will cut this down to 5 X 3 3/4 after glueing)

- DSP various Patterns 1 piece at 4 1/2 X 1 1/2

                                      1 piece at 4 X 1 1/2

                                       2 pieces at 3 X 1 1/2

                                        3 pieces at 2 X 1 1/2

For all rectangles, place them in your cutter and cut from corner to corner to make two triangles.

Then you just place them around your card, leaving a gap.  Glue them down when you like the pattern.  Cut the ends off to make a final panel of 5 3/4.

Stamp in memento ink and color with blends.  Stamp sentiment in Real Red. And assemble!

Easy peasy and so darn cute!!

I hope you enjoyed this card.  I am offering a Gnome for the Holiday Class to Go.  You need to order by Oct 22.  Don't miss out.  You can register here

Happy Stamping and Have an amazing week!!

Jen

Have a Hoot Waterfall Halloween Card

I cannot believe that the summer is over :(. I love the summer. I love autumn too and spring...but not a big fan of winter (although I get to do a lot of stamping, so I guess it isn't too bad LOL).  But, I guess it is time to start getting ready for Halloween.  I normally do treats for my son's class, but I think with COVID, I likely won't this year. Haven't fully decided. But I did love these owls and wanted to make a Halloween card.  The Waterfall call is perfect for these little owls!!!  What do you think?  Make sure you get the bundle!! I have more cards to show you where we will use the dies :). You just pull the tab at the bottom of the card and each little panel flips up...So cute!!

Which one do you like better? Cajun Craze or black?

The card is very simple to make.  Make sure you watch my video for some tips and tricks.  I have put a supply list for all the items below. And if you live in Canada,  you can buy these from my on-line store!

This is one of the cards that we will be making in my Have a Hoot card class.  Check out the class..and make sure you sign up!! We will be making 5 cards in it...2 halloween and 3 Christmas...you won't want to miss it!!!

Stamping Symphony September Blog Hop - Christmas In September Stamping with Jen

I cannot believe the summer is over and we are now into autumn.  I love autumn, it is one of my favourite times of year, but I do not like that it represents winter is just around the corner :(.  But, we thought it was time to start getting into the Christmas spirit!! It is good to plan ahead and get started on those Christmas cards so that when the season hits, you are well on your way to being ready!! So this months theme is Christmas in September!

I bought the Ornamental Envelopes Bundle originally because I wanted to make fancy envelopes for my Christmas cards, but let me tell you. I am sooooo happy I didn't just get the dies.  I spent some time this weekend playing with this bundle and I had so much fun.  What do you think of this card? It is so easy to make.

I will have a complete list of supplies at the bottom of the post to make this as I did, but you can make it with whatever supplies you have.

I will do a video this week of this card and will add the link. So make sure you check back.

But here are some basic instructions:

Paper and Dimensions:

Night of Navy Card Base 8 1/2 X 5 1/2 scored at 4 1/4.

Night of Navy First Layer 4 X 5 1/4

Silver Foil 4 X 2, run through the Subtles 3 D embossing Folder

Silver and Night Of Navy - "Joy" cut outs

Whisper White 4 X 5 1/4 - inside panel

Instructions

1.  Stamp the baubles using Versamark on the right side of the card (in landscape) so that the furthest right bauble is just under half an inch from the right side.  Cover with silver embossing powder and heat emboss with heating tool on high setting.

2. Using paper snips, cut around the baubles.

3. Cut out the Joy layers using the Joy Dies.  For the Night of Navy "Joy"  I put adhesive sheets on the back of the Night of Navy Cardstock before I cut it out, to make glueing much easier.  Glue (or tear off the protective sheet) and adhere the "Joys" together.

4. Position the Joy so that it is in close contact with a bauble (don't adhere just yet).  Using the Sending and To You and Yours from the Peace and Joy stamps, stamp in versamark on top and below the Joy.  Set the "Joy" aside and cover with silver embossing powder. Heat set using the heating tool on high setting.

5. Run panel through Stampin' Cut and Emboss machine using the Subtle embossing folder.

6.  Adhere Joy with adhesive of your choice.

7. Colour the metallic edge ribbon with the light Night of Navy Blend.  Colour enough to make a bow and to wrap around the card.  Let dry.

8.  Adhere silver panel to corner of card base leaving 1/8" border.

9. Adhere ribbon to Night of Navy layer and adhere to Night of Navy card base leaving 1/8 border.

10. Stamp inside sentiment and adhere to inside of card.

Here is a close up!
