Stamping with Jen - Stamping Symphony Blog Hop - Spring

Spring is almost here! Although you wouldn't know it today.  But soon the birds will be chirping, the crocuses will be emerging and new beginnings will start!!! I LOVE the spring.  The pop of colours, the longer days, the warming sun.  Can't wait for it to arrive!!!!  So for this month we decided to have Spring as the theme as I think we are all done with winter!!!

What doesn't scream spring but bunny rabbits and tulips.

I saw a similar card to this on Lisa's Stamping Studio and I was inspired!! Such a simple fun fold card.  I stamped the bunny in Crumb Cake and coloured in the shadows with the light Crumb Cake blend.  I made a mask of clouds using the basic borders dies and sponged with Balmy Blue.  I stamped the grass in Soft Sea Foam on the card, although you can't see it behind the tulips.  The tulips are from the Flowering Rain Boots bundle, stamped the stems in Soft Sea Foam and the tulips in Blushing Bride, Highland Heather and Gorgeous Grape.  I cut them out using the dies and then mixed and matched the colours.

The DSP is from Hand Penned Designer Series Paper and the leaves on the little flower embellishment (Loose Flower Flourishes) is cut from the Grove Dies.  The lovely sentiment die cut is from Pretty Pillow Box dies.

For the inside I kept it pretty simple!!

Here is the same card in different colours.  This one is Calypso Coral and the DSP is from Symbols of Fortune.

This stamp set is darn cute! And it is very versatile. It doesn't have to be spring or Easter cards.  It is perfect for new babies and just for cute cards all around!!

Here is the card I made on my FaceBook live tonight, bloopers and all!  Can you see what is missing??

If you want the supplies to make this card, they are listed below for the purple card!

Stamping with Jen Waves of Inspiration Bay Window Card

Thank you so much for joining me tonight!!! I received a birthday card from a friend who did this really cool fun fold (thanks for the inspiration Linda!!) and I just had to make it with this collection.  I am so in love with the Waves of the Ocean collection and this fun fold!!!!

I watched a video from Rachel Tessman from Stamp your Art out, who adapted this from a demonstrator in UK (Cards Taylor Made by Maria).  Thanks ladies for the inspiration!!!

What do you think of this card?  I love it!!!

Depending on which section of the DSP you are using, you may want to stamp in Pacific Point ink and emboss with clear embossing powder like below.    So the top card, the DSP was pretty dark, so I embossed in white embossing powder.  If there is more white in your DSP then you will want to stamp in colour! Like this one

For the inside, I kept it pretty simple

I used thick Basic White for the card base just to make it a bit more rigid.  Here are the measurements to make this card.

Card base - Thick Basic White 4 1/4 X 11, scored at 3/8, 1 7/8, 3 5/8, 5 1/8 and 5 1/2

Card stock - Pacific Point 4 1/8 X 3 3/4 cut two pieces at 1/4

DSP - 4 1/8 by 6.  Cut parallel to short side at 1 5/8 off the right hand side of the DSP, set aside.  Stamp/emboss image on the remaining piece and then cut at 1 3/8, 1 5/8, and the third piece will be 1 3/8.  Keep these pieces in order.

Basic White - stamp and cut out two pelicans and label

Make sure you watch my video for some tips and tricks!!

Happy stamping

Jen
