January 2019 Stamping Symphony Blog Hop - Occasions Catalogue

Have you had a chance to look at the new Occasions catalogue. Oh my, I am in love (again). Stampin Up! has outdone itself again!!! And the best thing, is it is Sale-A-Bration time! For every $60 Cdn you spend before tax and shipping you get to choose a FREE item from the Sale-A-Bration brochure.  Check it out and if you have any questions, let me know!! But back to the blog hop :). My husband and oldest son are fishing addicts, enthusiasts just doesn't cut it.  They think and dream fishing 365 days a year.  Please tell me, how many fishing rods does one person really need??? I suppose, when I look at my craft room, maybe I shouldn't really ask, because how many stamp sets does one really need (answer is all of them LOL). So when I saw the Best Catch Bundle in the Occasions catalogue I knew I had to have it!! AND January is both of their birthdays! How perfect.
Best Catch Cling Bundle
So despite being sick all Christmas holidays, I had a bit of a chance to play and create a birthday card for my hubby.  Let me know what you think?

I also used the new background stamp called Crackle Paint to do the background.  I stamped crumb cake ink on three pieces of crumb cake card stock. One is the standard 5 1/4 by 4, and the other two were a bit smaller, but not much. One one of the pieces, I also stamped using the Crackle Paint background stamp in Mossy Meadow. The two smaller pieces were then randomly ripped to add some dimension to the card.  I stamped the fishing bag and cut it, and the rushes and the small fish out with the thinlets on crumb cake and mossy meadow.  I stamped the rushes with the Crackle Paint background stamp in Mossy Meadow.  The large fish was stamped on whisper white card stock using momento ink and then colored with the blends.

Here is the closer picture to see the layering and coloring.

The inside of the card I kept simple.

Hope he loves his card. I sure had fun playing with this set.  Now to make one for my son!!!! What is your favorite bundle in the catalogue?
