Stamping with Jen - Peaceful Deer Squash Card

 

Happy Wednesday!!! How are you today? Hot enough for you? We are having a wicked heat wave right now.  You instantly melt when you go outside, thank goodness for air conditioning!! I won't complain though, because soon we will have snow on the ground. 

So I watched a video a few weeks ago from Lisa's Stamping Studio (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LDyyv_c0Pj0) where she made three different sizes of a Squash Card.  It looked like so much fun I had to try it out!!! I won't try to describe the step by step as it sounds more complicated than it is, so you will need to watch my video to see how to make this.  I did this live on my Facebook page.  If you don't follow me there or on YouTube, make sure you do! I decided that I didn't like the black "Merry Christmas" after all, so added the Real Red on top for the front of the card. Which do you prefer?

So this card is super cute in that it folds (or squashes) into a little square that will fit into a regular size envelope but it explodes into a multi panel card!

Here is a similar card in the greens from the DSP, which do you prefer?

There are so many possibilities with this fold and it is so much fun! Here is one I did with the Penguin Place Bundle and the corresponding SaleAbration paper Penguin Playmates

Stamping with Jen Peaceful Deer - How to Make a Mirror Image of the Stamp!

 Happy Wednesday! Thank you for joining me tonight to make this super cute Christmas Card using the Peaceful Deer Bundle together with the Peaceful Prints Designer Series Paper (DSP) which is free, while supplies last, during Saleabration (SAB)!

I did two versions of this card, one with bling (Be Dazzling Specialty Paper also free in SAB and without the bling. Which do you like the best?

I think I am liking the bling!!!

Measurements to make this card are:

- Card base 8 1/2 X 5 1/2, scored at 4 1/4

- DSP layer 5 1/4 X 4

- Real Red layer 3 1/4 X 4 1/2

- DSP layer 4 3/8 X 3 3/8

- Be Dazzling DSP strip 4 1/2 X 3/4

- Basic White for Die cutting (circle, two deer and sentiment)

- Basic White for inside 5 1/4 X 4

- Crumb cake for antlers

- Real Red for wreath

Stamping with Jen Shadow Box/ Diorama Penguin Place

Happy Wednesday! I can't believe that it is almost the middle of August already. It feels like the summer has just begun.  And yet, I have started on my winter cards already!! Crazy.  I know my work schedule is going to be insane, so I am trying to get a head start on my Christmas cards so I can check one thing off my list to do :).  So sorry if you are not ready to think of winter/Christmas yet...

But these penguins are just so darn cute!  Which one do you prefer the Misty Moonlight or the Fresh Freesia?

The snow man scene in the background is cut out from the Sale A Bration paper Penguin Playmates which is so amazing! I LOVE it.  This card is actually one that I am offering in my Fancy Fold class whose registration closes on August 16th, so don't miss registering!! (you can register here)

To make this card you will need

- two pieces of the same colour cardstock (I used Misty Moonlight and Fresh Freesia) measuring 6 X 4 1/4 (this one is the back and is scored at 1/2" on both sides) and one measuring 5 1/4 X 4 1/4 (scored at 1/4' on both sides)

- a piece of DSP measuring 5 X 4 1/4

- a piece of Basic white (for the back measuring 4 3/4 X 4

- some scrap basic white for stamping and for snow banks

- embellishments/decorations etc
