Last Chance Items

Well to pay our last respects to the retiring items, we are adding an extra blog this month!!!!

I do not know where the last 4-5 months have gone. I guess with my dad passing and with work being insane, it has just slipped by.  The Myths and Magic bundle is retiring and I fell in love with this in the Occasions catalogue, but haven't really had the chance to play around with it.  Thought with it retiring, that there was no time like the present to play!
It is really hard to see in the photo (I need to take some photography lessons LOL) but this card is really cool.  I combined the black ice technique with blends.  You have to be careful though that you don't touch the black ink with your blends...and that you wash your blends to get the real color back as it will pick up and dissolve the black ink. I tried it with momento, but for some reason it didn't work. Need to play a bit more with that.  Anyway, I took the archival black ink directly to the champagne foil sheets and dragged it down creating a streaked look.  Let the ink dry and then stamped the image also in archival ink. Let that dry and then colored with blends (making sure not to touch the black ink).  Once that was dry, I took the versamark pad and lightly stroked down the sheet, and then clear embossed over.  Cut the images out using the dyes and assembled.   The photo doesn't do it justice.  Inside is pretty basic. Just die cut happy birthday in fresh fig, used some wink of stella for bling and added some washi tape and DSP.

I also did the same card using different paper and silver foil paper.
so sad to see this bundle leave.  Will need to play some more :)

  1. I, too, haven't used this suite nearly enough! So sad that it's going away in a couple of weeks. These cards are adorable Jen!
