August Stamping Symphony Blog Hop Fall is Almost Here

Ok, where has the summer gone? Last time I looked we were still running to the school bus, now summer is almost over? I am afraid I have been missing in action from my stamping. Between holidays, weekends away and an absolutely insane work schedule, July has disappeared and August is going just as fast. When we decided to do a Fall theme for this months blog hop, the reality that my favorite season of the year is wrapping up hit me hard.  Don't get me wrong, I love the autumn, but I do not like what follows it ....snow and cold. But I digress. So, even though I am still playing with all my goodies from the Annual catalogue, my pre-order (demonstrators get to order ahead of customers...one of the perks of being a demonstrator) has arrived and now I am full steam ahead planning for the holiday season.  But one of my favourite new sets from the Annual catalogue is the Silhouette Scenes Bundle. It is ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS. So I decided to use this to bundle to play for this months blog. Please let me know what you think.

I used shimmer paper and sponged the background using Mango Melody and Melon Mambo. I just love the Mango Melody, one of my new favorite colors.  The tree is cut from the dies and the stamparatus was a must for me on this one to get the black memento dark enough for me to be happy with.  I used a few different stamp sets here (for the grass, sentiment and leaves...see below for a list).  For the leaves, I used the new pigment sprinkles from stamping up (Mango Melody and Melon Mambo).  These are amazing and can make such beautiful backgrounds. After spritzing and getting the colors that I was happy with, I let dry and then stamped the little leave from the Magnolia Blooms set (this is a complimentary set to the Good Morning Magnolia that is available in the starter brochure). The leaves were then fussy cut out and used as embellishments.  Here is a closer look.

The sponging of the background with the daubers is very forgiving and really creates a cool effect.  If you don't have a stamparatus that will allow you to ink up and keep stamping until you get the darkness you want, you may want to use black embossing powder to get a dark image.  Really is stunning against the sponged background.

For the inside I just kept it really simple and blank so that I have lots of room to write a note to whomever I send this to :)
